01Particles of love

We are surrounded by particles of consciousness. In a moment of deep stillness, I experienced them as love, alive in the space around me, before they had taken any recognizable form. What stayed with me was the awareness that I could have a relationship with that love. I could become quiet enough to feel it and let it show me something I hadn’t known how to ask for.

Recently I was in a conversation with someone I love when I began to feel my mother’s presence. My mother transitioned seven years ago, yet her energy felt close. I sensed she had something to share, and before I could go further, the person I was speaking with asked a beautiful question.

“How do you know it’s your mother?”

I let myself get still. We both did. In that quiet, I felt the space around me come alive with tiny particles, and the quality I felt in them was love. As I kept listening, a familiar presence became more distinct. I could feel my mother’s energy taking form, almost as though she were standing just behind me, near my left ear.

Her message was beautiful. But the question itself opened something in me. It turned my attention to the relationship I was receiving her through. There was love between us in that conversation, an openness and a surrender to whatever wanted to come through. I had no agenda for what the experience needed to be.

That stayed with me long after the conversation ended. How much becomes available when we give our attention to the love that’s already here?

02When the problem takes over

So much of our attention goes toward what needs to be resolved. Something happens, a problem shows up, and we start organizing ourselves around it. We look for the right response. We anticipate what might go wrong. We try to manage enough of the circumstances to feel safe moving forward. Life asks us to make practical decisions, and those decisions matter. Yet we can get so occupied with the problem that we lose touch with the part of ourselves that can meet it with more clarity.

I’ve come to value returning to stillness before deciding what comes next. When I talk about creating from Source, this is what I’m inviting you to explore. Bring your attention to the place within you where you can feel your connection to the divine. Rest there long enough to notice what begins to arise.

03Light and love

For me, power is the light we’ve awakened in ourselves and our willingness to bring it into our lives. Love gives that power its direction. The more intimate we become with it, the more consciously we can choose how we show up, whether that’s in a difficult conversation or in a moment when we’d usually abandon ourselves.

And please give yourself credit for the capacity you already have. You’ve invested so much in becoming more aware. There are things you understand now because you’ve lived them. There’s wisdom in you that came through experiences no book could have taught you. Let that wisdom have a place in the choices you make today. You can begin with who you are and what you know right now.

04A practice for unsettled moments

When something in your life feels unsettled, take a moment to breathe. Let your attention move past the immediate demand for an answer. Some people experience this as lifting their awareness toward Source. Others find a still point deep in the heart. Follow whatever feels natural to you. Allow a few breaths without asking the moment to produce a result.

Then bring what you hope to create into that quiet. Maybe you’re considering a new job. Maybe you want to feel more at home in a relationship. Let yourself feel what matters underneath the outcome you’ve imagined. There may be a longing for peace, or for the freedom to express who you are more fully. Stay close to that longing and let the form it takes stay open.

Prayer can help us enter this space. I’m remembering how powerful it is to pray for illumination, to ask for wisdom that’s already available but that I can’t yet see. There’s a tenderness in letting the divine know more than I know. A prayer can be as simple as this:

Let me remember the light within me. Help me see what I cannot yet see. Let my love be present in this moment, and give me the wisdom to recognize the next step and the courage to take it. I open to what is beyond my present understanding.

05Back into your day

Then bring that awareness back into your day. Make the call that needs making. Have the honest conversation, and rest when you need to. Notice whether you’re responding with more presence, or whether you can simply stay with yourself more kindly while the answer is still unfolding.

A hard day may still come. You may feel tired or confused after a stretch when everything seemed to flow. In those moments, remember that you know how to find yourself again. The wisdom you’ve gained is still yours. You can draw on it while feeling exactly what you feel.

There’s room for honest acceptance here. You can admit something hurts. You can admit you feel stuck. Bring your love into that experience and get curious about what it needs. Sometimes the next step gets clearer when we stop demanding that we feel differently before we’re allowed to trust ourselves.

When we’re willing to meet ourselves with more awareness, it reaches into our relationships. We bring what we’ve learned into the way we listen and the choices we make when an old pattern comes back around. I feel this as part of the torch we carry from those who came before us. We receive what they were able to give and add the light of our own becoming, and that becomes part of what we hand to those who come after us.

06Honoring what you leave behind

If you’re leaving a chapter of your life, let yourself honor what it held. Find a quiet space. You might light a candle and remember what you received there and what you gave. Let yourself feel the value of your contribution, even if the ending was painful or your efforts weren’t fully acknowledged. Carry the wisdom and the love forward, and let yourself be curious about what they might nourish next.

07Where you go, God goes

This is where I return when I don’t know how something will unfold. I bring my attention back to the light within me and let myself be in relationship with the mystery. There’s more for me to discover. There’s love I can bring to the next moment, even before I understand it.

Where you go, God goes. Let yourself feel what that means in the places where you’ve felt most alone. Bring your light there. Breathe into that connection, and let it walk with you into what comes next.
